Shop the House Design Challenge: Fall Edition – Week 3

Simple Fall Decorating - perfect for transitioning into autumn!

The girls and I are back for the third week of the Shop the House Challenge. Last week, I shared a little bit of how I transition into fall here in California since true fall weather is a rare for us. The mornings have been cool and crisp, but thisย week the temps areย back in the hundreds. So, my boots and scarves will have to wait for winter. ๐Ÿ˜‰

I thought by this time I would be in full blown fall decorating mode in our home, but with the weather I’m just not feeling it this year. Plus, we still have the whole month of October and November for the acorns and pumpkins. Last week, I tried to get all super modern and cool with the modern black lamps and while I love them in our bedroom, but they just weren’t working in our entry way. It’s open to our great room (living, kitchen, and dining) so one side of the house was not vibe-ing well with the other half. In a recent post about finding my style and being honest with myself, I knew I just wasn’t feeling it. So, back to my favorite lamps! Ps these lamps are no longer available, but I linked similar ones below.

I still kept it simple and symmetrical, if you’ve been following me for awhile you know I’m a big fan of symmetry. I’ve always wanted to put items inside the lamps for interest, and these arrows from Axel & Co are perfect! I’ve had them for a few years now and they’re always the perfect accent – you can see them here in my office.

The little candle stands I’ve also had for years, I found them on clearance at Target. They are perfect for adding a little bit of height to a vignette. The wire pumpkins are from the Target Dollar Spot last year, originally black but I spray painted them. I used them last year in my fall dining room reveal. Its amazing how much my style has changed. Shelves full of decor to now just a few subtle touches. Life is so much more easier now! ๐Ÿ™‚
