Shop the House Design Challenge

I’m so excited about this new adventure I’ve been asked to join in on with some other amazingly talented bloggers! With the New Year sometimes budgets and spending money can take a major hit after the holidays are over. As a home decor lover I try to keep things as frugal as possible and love to share my shopping deals and shopping trips at my favorite stores. Because, I am constantly changing up the decor around our house, I’ve also learned to “shop the house” and use what I have in different and creative ways.
I’ve teamed up with some awesome bloggers to help encourage and inspire you all to get creative with things you already have by showing you what we can do with our homes and decor. It’s easy to shop the house and be resourceful when you’re inspired! We each will be selecting one area of our house that we will use throughout the entire challenge. For the next four months, we will completely restyle that space using only items that we already own. We can also DIY or transform a piece, but only if we have the items on hand for the project. If you would like to get creative and play along, follow on Instagram and use the hashtag #shopthehouse2016.
For my challenge space, I’ve chosen my office area. I chose it because I love switching it up for the seasons, but also because in the new year I’ve been going in a different direction with my decorating style and I’m curious how I will achieve my new simple decor look in this space.
Here is my space before the holidays took over, to be honest since I’ve taken down the Christmas decor my desk has become a catch all for all my mail, magazines, and boxes from the post office. Maybe I’ll put together a little organization for this new challenge?

This is how my office space looked pretty much all of last year. I can’t wait to change it up and get creative with items I already own! Sources can be found in my home tour. I’ll be back next month with a brand new look…
Be sure to check out all of the other talented bloggers in the Shop the House Design Challenge and see which spaces they have chosen –
