Master Bedroom

Hello! I’ve been in kind of a funk lately and haven’t finished my master bedroom and bathroom makeover. Blah. But I wanted to post what I have done so far! Still making progress! I shared the before and some of my plans on Persicope a few weeks ago. Shortly after I got to work painting, hanging wall art, shelving, etc. in the bathroom. I still have a couple more projects to finish up in our master bedroom and then it will be complete.

I painted an accent wall behind our bed using Valspar Mark Twain Gray Brick, it is actually the same color of our front door. A few weeks ago I posted a Target Thursday post about headboards and I couldn’t get this Skyline Upholstered Tufted Wingback off my mind! I showed it to Joe and he agreed that it was more our style than than the one we had previously. I’m so glad we changed it up!

I also purchased the Organic Chevron euro shams from West Elm during one of their sales. I’ve actually been obsessed with the bedding for a year or so now and I still might purchase the duvet cover too. Our duvet cover now is Target Threshold Pinched Pleat. The gray accent pillows are from H&M Home and the “you, me & the dog” pillow is from Vintage Dayz.

On the other side of the room are corner windows and an accent chair. I finally found the chair at Marshall’s after almost a year of searching. The charcoal gray curtains are from Target and are black out curtains, which is great for when I have to sleep during the day because of my work schedule. I found the curtain rods at Goodwill for five dollars! The ottoman is a Pier 1 purchase from many years ago, table is a clearance find from Target, and cantilever lamp is also from Target.

The bench at the foot of the bed is also a Marshall’s find but I have plans on giving it a makeover. I’m not a fan of the print anymore, but it works so well for us I don’t want to get rid of it just yet. I will write another blog post for its makeover!

One of the biggest changes to the room is the DIY barn door. I’m so glad we decided to do this project, not only is it pretty to look at, but it actually serves a lot of function for us. It keeps air contained and helps our air conditioning by creating a barrier between our bedroom and bathroom.

I painted the remaining walls Valspar Oatlands Subtle Taupe, which is the same color used in most of our house. I love how adding some color to the walls really made the weathered wood pop. Its almost like a piece of art.

A large mirror near the closet finishes off the space. Oh look there is Scooby hanging out on our bed! Who am I kidding, its his bed and he just lets us sleep in it.

I still have some art to hang, some shelving to install, and another Ikea hack planned for our nightstands. I can’t wait to get it all finished and share!
